Job Responsibilities
The RS3 shall provide technical assistance to maintain contracted levels of system availability at the Katterbach, Shipton & Storck Army Barracks. He/she will act as the on-site GD-NS representative and primary interface into the site DOIM, GD- NS Engineering and Foundry tech support. He/she will utilize the IOA&M problem analysis & resolution tools and other GFE to resolve technical problems with the installed systems. He/she will provide technical assistance and training to ensure that Government personnel become progressively more self-sufficient maintaining and operating the installed systems. He/she will assist the DOIMs with system administration and maintenance of the networks. The RS3 will perform other related tasks including updating standard & emergency operations procedures, modification of fiber patch panels, maintenance of system configuration documentation, implementation of hardware & software updates/upgrades, replacement of failed or upgraded network components, configuration of replaced network components, and consultation to Government system operators pertaining to system generation, operation and troubleshooting.
Experience
4-6 years experience installing, troubleshooting & maintaining IP/GigE routers & switches. Formal training and/or hands-on experience with Foundry equipment required. Army communications systems support experience desired.
Education/Equivalent Training Required
AS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
Unique/Additional Requirements U.S. citizenship and a Secret clearance are mandatory. Exceptional trouble shooting and problem resolution skills are needed in this position. Some travel will be required between Army facilities in the Ansbach and Bad Windsheim area. |

Position requires an individual that has to demonstrated ability to support a multitude of customer requirements. This person also may be required to travel to remote or hostile enviroments. Must possess a US TS-SCI Security Clearance and achieving and successfully maintaining Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.Required to be on call 24x7 and work shift work when needed/required. |

Assist the customer in determining requirements and developing solutions and implementation procedures for real world and exercise situations. Perform systems integration, engineering, installation and analysis tasks for classified C4I automation systems. Analyze C4I systems performance in support of military operations and exercises and develops systems strategies to support the military mission being undertaken. Provide technical support of unique proprietary US Command and Control, Defense Communication, and Intelligence data processing equipment and with a primary focus on the associated network components. Serve as technical advisor in the procurement, testing, and fielding of all SSLSM Intelligence assets and network configurations. This support will include US proprietary software and firmware upgrades, enhancements, and installations. All aspects of Technical Support require compliance with ISO 9000 standards. Familiarity with US Forces operation and mission requirements. Solid understanding of electronic principles with the ability to interpret and utilize system drawings, theory of operation manuals, and Technical Work Order
Associates Degree in a technical field or minimum of four (4) years US Military service. Industry recognized Technical Certification
Military experience in a technical field; or have the experience of demonstrated the knowledge in C4I to fulfill the duties listed above. Tactical VTC and Secure Communications experience a plus
Must be able to lift a 70lb tactical case to a vertical height of 1 meter (into rear of HUMVEE) and willing to deploy into Hazardous Duty Zones. Site personnel are deployed to field exercises or real world missions at least 20% of the year |

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for I3MP OPS/ISP Engineering within Germany. The candidate will perform the following tasks: Provide engineering support to Germany regional/area program managers, site managers and site quality assurance in all aspects of OSP/ISP design and installation. Work with the Government and subcontractor to develop solutions to problem encountered during installation. Engineer change proposals (ECP), generate the appropriate documentation, coordinate ECP through Government engineering, coordinate with subcontractor, track ECP through approval cycle and work with the site manager, QA and subcontractor throughout the ECP installation. Support performance reporting to the Needham program office on a timely basis. Provide quality inspections and engineering guidance to all ongoing Germany installations.
Education/Equivalent Training Required
BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications Technology, or equivalent. ICSI Certifications (RCDD, OSP, LAN, etc.) strongly prefered
Experience
The candidate should have 12-20 years experience in OSP installation and design, including underground, aerial and direct bury, copper/fiber splicing, terminating & testing, ISP installation and design, including power, grounding, telco closets, etc.
Unique/Additional Requirements US citizenship and a current Secret security clearance is mandatory. The period of performance for this position is approximately two years. The location where this work will be performed is at U.S. Army installations in Germany. |
