| The VP of Engineering is responsible for the Research & Development activities within the Atlanta branch, ensuring the Engineering department`s conformance to the company quality system in accordance with customer and company requirements. Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the R&D procedures, reporting on the performance and initiating improvements for R&D. Will provide R&D efforts to enhance current products and develop new technologies and products. Act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the procurement of services and materials for the Atlanta R&D activities. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training department staff, evaluating staff performance, and developing goals and objectives for staff. As member of the Direction Committee, participation in promoting the success of the organization is expected. Bachelor`s Degree in Engineering or related field is required. Five or more years of experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities is required. Experience should be gained in areas of R&D and should include a minimum of three years in R&D management. Knowledge of RF, computers, test instruments and CATV is desired. Ability to develop strategies and action plans in order to meet annual objectives. Has knowledge of project management techniques. Possess strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development. Have good communication and facilitation skills. Ability to perform needs assessment and handle technical objectives. Performs extremely good time management practices. Have excellent business acumen and decision capabilities. Strong computer skills are required, as well as good verbal and writing skills. Occasional travel is required. |
